INNOVATE, INTEGRATE, LEAD: SCHOOL LIBRARIANS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE AI REVOLUTION

Time: Sign-in begins at 8:30 am. The workshop is 9 am – 3 pm
Description: ChatGPT and other forms of generative AI have burst into our lives as a disruptive new technology. It is critical that school libraries lead the way in educating students, parents, and our colleagues on how this technology works and how to best work with it. In this full-day statewide PD session, we will learn more about how it works and how we can use it to boost our existing work. The NYS Education Department will present on the Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards and connections to AI. We will hear from school librarians who have used AI in the field, and we will round off this day with a presentation from Common Sense Media on what parents need to know.
This is a statewide professional development session that is presented virtually.
