Description: An engaging and practical workshop designed specifically for K–12 science educators. This session will explore effective strategies for implementing the NYS P–12 Science Learning Standards in diverse classroom settings. Through collaborative discussions and real-world examples, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the standards’ three-dimensional learning approach — integrating Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs), Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs), and Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCIs).
This workshop will provide tools and resources to:
- Design and deliver phenomenon-based instruction
- Foster student-centered inquiry and scientific thinking
- Align assessments with performance expectations
Participants will leave with actionable ideas, lesson planning tools, and a network of fellow educators committed to elevating science teaching and learning.
