Plattsburgh Main Campus

The rapidly expanding pet industry has a variety of careers for the animal loving enthusiast! The Animal Science Veterinary Assistant Program is designed for those interested in pursuing a career in an animal related field. This program encompasses the study of dogs, cats, pocket pets, livestock, equines and exotic species. Traditional instruction with hands-on learning provides students with practical experience while focusing on critical thinking and depth of understanding. Through hands-on application, shared skills and career exploration opportunities, students will gain employability skills, practice good work ethics and become team players. Upon completion of the program, students can continue on to a career or choose to enroll in post-secondary education to earn a degree in an animal related field.
