This is an 8:1:2 classroom (8 students, 1 teacher, and 2 teaching assistants) for students with mild to severe emotional disabilities. These children have borderline to above average cognitive ability. They may have a mental health diagnosis and display challenging behaviors that interfere with learning.

Curriculum Focus:
- General education curriculum
- Modified regents
- Social and behavioral skills
- Career exploration and work experience opportunities (for students 14 years and older)
Program Supports:
- A smaller class setting
- Intensive adult support and consistent routines for learning
- Instructional program focuses on meeting emotional/behavioral needs while addressing academic skills
- Counseling is an integral part of this program with two half-hour sessions per week
- Assistance with preventative strategies
- Crisis support
- Instruction and support with social and behavioral skills
- Frequent collaboration and communication with parents and community service providers
Diploma/Credential Earned:
- Regent’s Diploma/Local Diploma and CDOS Credential with curricular modifications and support as needed
