This is a 6:1:3 classroom (6 students, 1 teacher, and 3 teaching assistants) for students with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or similar presentation.
These children have significant deficits in communication skills and may have significant deficits in adaptive behavior. These children also display challenging behaviors that interfere with learning. Our program uses research-based methodologies such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Visual Strategies, Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), augmentative communications systems, functional behavioral assessment and Positive Behavior Supports to assist students in attending programs in the least restrictive environment.
