Teachers of the Deaf

Teachers of the Deaf provide academic, consultative and technical services to students who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. Teachers of the Deaf provide services for students from kindergarten to high school graduation in our component districts and in our special centers.

Academic services include:

• direct instruction
• co-teaching with the regular classroom teacher
• resource room
• consult services to school staff

Technical services include:

• working with cochlear implants
• working with hearing aids
• working with assistive listening devices to ensure that the students have access to spoken information at school

Interpreter for the Deaf

An interpreter provides services for students who participate in the educational mainstream as well as self-contained programs. A C-Print Captionist provides services for students in the educational mainstream that are deaf or hard of hearing.
