The Model Schools Program supports school districts in the effective integration of instructional technology aligned with their technology plans. In partnership with the Instructional Technology Service, the program offers planning assistance, professional development, and collaborative opportunities across the 16 CEWW BOCES component districts.
Districts receive support in developing and implementing technology plans, assessing hardware and software needs, and accessing sample plans and best practices. The program promotes innovative classroom technology use through software demonstrations, creation of demonstration classrooms, and connections to higher education and industry resources. Schools are also guided in preparing students for New York State digital assessments.
A key feature of the program is its robust professional development, often led by nationally recognized presenters. In addition, quarterly meetings bring educators and leaders together to share updates, explore emerging technologies, and build a regional cohort focused on instructional technology leadership and collaboration. The Model Schools Program empowers schools to use technology purposefully to enhance teaching and improve student outcomes.
