Workshop Description:
This one-day session will focus on the following proven instructional skills, strategies and processes:
The 5 basic teaching strategies
The Interaction Sequence – a process that successfully engages all students in a positive and productive way.
Instructional organization – a systematic approach to organizing a lesson or class to effectively manage both the content and available teaching time
Proven strategies designed to positively impact memory and thus performance scores
A review of a set of proven behavior management strategies.
About the presenters:
The managing partners and key trainers for APL Associates have a rich background of experience that they bring to the sessions.
Dr. Jean T. Anastasio has been an elementary teacher, special education teacher and supervisor, field coordinator of the Syracuse University Regional Resource Center, instructor for graduate and undergraduate programs at Syracuse University, Director of Pupil Personnel Services for public schools, and staff developer.
David J. Perry has been a secondary classroom teacher of history, department chair for social studies in the public schools, principal at the middle school and junior high school levels, education professor in the State of New York University system, and staff developer.
