The School Improvement Service at CVES  is dedicated to supporting component school districts in their mission to enhance instructional quality, raise academic standards, improve curriculum and assessment practices, and build overall capacity. We offer a comprehensive range of services designed to empower educators and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Professional Development:

• Customized Training Programs: Tailored professional development sessions to meet the specific needs of educators at all levels.
• Workshops and Seminars: Interactive workshops and seminars on best practices to promote quality teaching and learning.
• Coaching and Mentoring: Ongoing support through coaching and mentoring to help teachers and leaders implement new strategies effectively.
• Collaborative Planning: Facilitation of collaborative planning sessions focused on district and school improvement.

Instructional Improvement:

• Instructional Audit:  Comprehensive review of current data and instructional practices to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
• District and School Improvement Planning:  Assistance in developing improvement plans that align with educational goals and priorities

Curriculum and Assessment:

• Curriculum Development: Support in designing and updating curriculum to ensure it is relevant, engaging, and aligned with standards.
• Assessment Development: Formative and summative assessments that provide meaningful feedback on student learning.
• Assessment Literacy: Training for educators on how to effectively use assessment data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes.
• Standards Alignment: Assistance in aligning curriculum and instruction with state and national academic standards.
• Regional Scoring Coordination:  Coordination and support for regional scoring of grades 3-8 assessments and Regents exams.

Capacity Building:

• Leadership Development: Programs to develop the skills and knowledge of teacher leaders and school administrators.
• Collaborative Networks: Establishment of professional learning communities and networks to share best practices and resources.
• Sustainability Planning: Strategies for building capacity within the district to sustain improvements over the long term.
• Substitute Reimbursement:  Financial support for district to cover ht eost of substitutes
