The Library Services Co-Ser provides K-12 Library Media Centers in the region access to two key programs: Coordinated Cooperative Collection Development (CCCD) and Online Database Resources, including eBooks.
Coordinated Cooperative Collection Development (CCCD) is a collaborative program designed to develop shared eBook and print collections that support curriculum and literacy materials for teachers and students. Initiated to ensure school libraries can effectively provide resources aligned with New York State standards, this service enables cooperative purchasing of library materials that enhance student learning. The School Library System’s Coordinated Cooperative Collection Development Plan forms the foundation of this service. Through CVES coordination, duplication of specialized materials is minimized, allowing school libraries to cooperatively expand resource availability while maximizing budget efficiency.
Online Database Resources offer participating districts access to specialized collections of online resources that help maximize limited school budgets and physical space. This shared service includes, but is not limited to, digital access to reference materials, periodicals, newspapers, visual images, reading materials, and video streaming resources. It supports the instructional and informational needs of students, teachers, administrators, and staff. The School Library System provides staff development, technical assistance, and training to ensure effective use of these resources.
