The Library Automation Service provides the tools, expertise, and technical support needed to implement and maintain an integrated library management and resource-sharing system. By leveraging electronic technology, this service allows libraries to efficiently access, process, store, retrieve, and share information and materials.
Library Automation enhances a school’s ability to share resources through a centralized circulation management system, increasing access to available materials and helping students develop essential search strategies. The School Library System supports the open-source OPALS (Open-source Automated Library System) platform. The service includes software updates, annual licensing fees, staff training, and both on-site and remote technical support.
Additional features include annual patron database uploads, customization of databases and reports, inventory management support, and disaster recovery procedures for library data.
