The program provides a system for regular emergency communications between school district offices, maintenance facilities, school buses and other district vehicles using FM Radio channels with repeaters at optimum locations.
This includes direct access to the Emergency Communications Centers operated by the Emergency Preparedness in Clinton, Essex, and Franklin counties, ensuring 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week coverage. Currently, 15 school districts participate in the FM Emergency Communication System (Co-Ser 640) and utilize over 500 Base, Mobile and Portable Units.
