Description: RTI was once the hottest topic in reading education, but failed to produce impressive results, according to a national study and NAEP scores. Where did RTI come from? Why didn’t RTI live up to its promise? How does RTI/MTSS intersect with current attention to the science of reading in NYS? What can we salvage from the original research and intent that precipitated RTI as we move forward to empower educators and increase student literacy achievement?
