Description: In this interactive full-day workshop, teachers will design meaningful learning experiences that help students see how the “superpowers” they are learning in school are used in authentic ways every day across our communities to solve problems and make contributions. Through connections to real-world issues, challenges, and everyday happenings, students gain opportunities to think critically and demonstrate the skills they are learning in meaningful ways. Throughout the workshop, participants will engage in a simple three-step process for creating engaging, standards-aligned PBL experiences. Sign up for this hands-on workshop to explore examples of PBL at your grade level, brainstorm ideas that work for your students and your schedule and begin designing PBL experiences tailored to students at the grade level you teach.
Participants will leave this workshop with:
● Simple strategies for embedding PBL throughout your current curriculum
● A ready-to-implement PBL experience for your students
● Planning templates, examples, and practical PBL resources
● A stronger understanding of how PBL aligns with the New York State Graduation Measures and Portrait of a Graduate initiative
