Description: In recent years, there has been a notable increase in anxiety and mental health challenges among students, often linked to the pervasive use of smartphones and social media. Objectives:

  • Understand the Impact: Delve into the research presented in The Anxious Generation to comprehend how the shift from traditional play-based childhood to a smartphone-centric lifestyle has affected student mental health.
  • Identify Signs of Anxiety: Learn to recognize symptoms of anxiety and related mental health issues in students across different age groups.
  • Implement Supportive Strategies: Explore evidence-based practices and interventions that can be integrated into the classroom to support students dealing with anxiety.
  • Promote Healthy Digital Habits: Develop approaches to encourage balanced technology use among students, fostering healthier digital consumption patterns.

All participants will receive a copy of the book, The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness by Jonathan Haidt
