Our Certified Phlebotomy Technician course pre-pares the learner to perform finger punctures and venous blood drawing for the purposes of obtaining blood samples for laboratory analysis. Certification is available through NHA and/or NCA. This 10-week course meets 3 hours per week during the evenings. Certification is available through the National Health Career Association. Available at the Plattsburgh campus.
This course is also valuable for present health care workers who wish to cross-train and/or add to their present skill base. Professional Certification is available through The National Certification Agency. It is highly recommended that all students receive the Hepatitis B vaccine available through Clinton County Department of Public Health (565-4848) or a private physician (costs range).

Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 – 9:00 pm (& one 4-hour shadow and additional lab time as needed)
Hours 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Total of 70 contact hours spent in the class/laboratory with one field trip.
Students must be 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED (a copy is required with application). Students will be required to sign waivers of liability prior to participation in laboratory practice involving self/others.
Class size: Minimum of 8 Maximum of 20
Cost: Tuition $850, Textbook $60, Drug test $40, Background check $105, Certification Examination is optional, but is highly recommended. Certification through the National Healthcare Association at a fee of $117 offered at CV-TEC.
