The yearly service includes: assistance in generation and auditing of state aid forms; regional workshops; hot line service; assistance in understanding conceptual framework of state aid in New York State; maximizing state aid; analysis of legislative proposals for state aid to education; legislative monitoring; state aid projections; school district financial comparisons (regional, county, statewide); assistance with presentation material (board, public). Estimates of state aid and state aid reports are prepared for participating school districts based on data provided by the school districts.

Policy Services of Erie 1 BOCES works with over 375 school districts across New York State to develop and maintain Board-adopted Policy and Administrative (Regulation) Manuals.

Our policy coordinators continually research changes in federal and state law and regulations, Commissioner’s Regulations and State Education guidance and apply those changes to policies and regulations. We have developed a system of options to allow a district to participate at a level that best meets their needs.
