Portraits of Possibility: Inquiry, School Libraries and Lifelong Learning

Description:
6th Annual Statewide Symposium
Featuring keynote speaker Dr. Barbara Stripling, this workshop will
explore inquiry and the inquiry cycle as a framework for developing
students as curious, capable, and independent learners.
Participants will delve into inquiry as a way of learning and explore
authentic opportunities through project-based learning, alternative
forms of assessment, and purposeful use of the school library and
its resources. The New York State Portrait of a Graduate will provide
a lens for connecting inquiry to the skills and attributes students
need as learners. NYSED will provide closing remarks on the role
school librarians play in strengthening inquiry in education.
Teacher and librarian teams encouraged to register together to
further collaboration and creation of inquiry-based opportunities.
All members of the school community are welcome to join the 6th
annual SLSA Statewide Learning Symposium, sponsored by the
School Library Systems Association of NYS.
