Aligning Chemistry & Physics Curriculum with NYSSLS, State Labs, and Assessments

Description: Join local Chemistry and Physics teachers for a collaborative workshop focused on aligning curriculum and instruction with the New York State P-12 Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS). Participants will review information and guidance from the state, examine the language and expectations reflected in the new state assessments, collaborate on the state labs, and explore how these align with the Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs). Chemistry and Physics teachers will then work in content-specific groups to collaborate, share ideas, and identify opportunities to strengthen alignment within their courses. The workshop will provide dedicated time for teachers to learn from one another and develop a shared understanding of the expectations for student learning and assessment.
