NYS School Buildings to Remain Closed for 2019-20

From the Office of Dr. Mark Davey, CVES District Superintendent

The CVES Board and I wish to thank all CVES employees for their continued work during this pandemic. Students, parents and the entire community recognize and appreciate your hard work and dedication.

Today, Governor Cuomo announced that all NY State school buildings will remain closed for the remainder of the current school year. CVES will continue to provide remote learning, meals for students and support childcare for essential workers during this time.

CVES understands that this closure means the cancellation or delay of important milestones for all students, especially for our program completers and graduating seniors at CVES. At this time, our end-of-the-year celebrations of our CVES students’ accomplishments are still in the planning phase, given the continued closure, and more information will be forthcoming.

As difficult a decision as this was for all of us, the safety of our communities requires us to take this extraordinary precaution to ensure the health for all of us across NY State, and indeed, the entire country.

Sincerely,
Dr. Mark C. Davey
