Career Connect 2018 is scheduled for May 17, 2018 at Clinton Community College.
A planning committee is organizing a Career Connect Showcase at Clinton Community College on May 17, 2018 to serve as a culminating event for the 4th year of this initiative. The goal of the Showcase is to share Career Cluster, next generation standards aligned, student research projects and connect students with area business or community organization partners in relevant fields around the 16 career clusters. (see below)
Throughout the school year, students have been researching information related to a career cluster of interest. The Committee hopes that area businesses and organizations are willing to participate and provide additional information for the students to become more knowledgeable of the various career opportunities in a specific cluster, the training and education needed, and possible career advancement opportunities. Business partners are encouraged to bring displays, brochures, business cards and other materials to engage the students.
Districts attend from 9:00 until noon with a welcoming session in the gymnasium and the Stafford Center. Students will visit three career clusters they have chosen prior to the day. Students have the opportunity to visit with various representatives from colleges and career preparation centers. They will come with questions prepared in advance for business partners or community organizations to help them answer. The Showcase ends with a guest speaker.
If your business/organization wishes to participate, please complete the registration form below. The Career Connect Planning Committee hopes you are able to join us on May 17. Your business/organization will be able to set up in the afternoon on May 16th and/or early on May 17th. Lunch will be provided. Thank you in advance.
