pinkhealslogoAs part of the Medical Office Assisting program, we adopted the Breast Cancer Awareness theme for the month of October. Some of the events for the month included researching the topic and creating informational flyers about some aspect of breast cancer and/or support for cancer patients. The informational flyers were displayed in our Health Careers hallway. The month culminated with a visit from Guardians of the Ribbon (also known as Pink Heals Inc.) with their pink fire truck. Staff and students collected change through the CV-TEC Café for the month of October and donated all of it to their cause of supporting cancer patients and their families. CV-TEC staff & students were pleased to present Jim Garrant with $300 on Friday, October 28th.

In addition to the presentation of the donation, three CVES employees, who are cancer survivors, were recognized and presented with pink roses and some gifts from the Guardians of the Ribbon. Those CVES employees were: Bonnie Berry, Becky Garrow, and Michele Whitford.

Guardians of the Ribbon also recognized the CV-TEC Auto Collision program for their outstanding job last spring painting one of their pink fire trucks. That fire truck is now in Vermont and has received many compliments on a job well done. For the recognition, Mr. Tedford had all of his students wearing pink shirts.
