“Freezin For a Reason!” Polar Plunge

With the support of our CVES Wellness Committee, we had another great team this year for the annual November Polar Plunge held at the Plattsburgh City Beach. Our team name was called the FOP Lodge 999 CVES Bulldogs with Clinton County Sheriff Department Deputy Tracey Hilliker as our team captain. We were joined by staff, family, friends & even a few brave students to take the plunge to raise money for Special Olympics.

All funds raised benefit Special Olympics of the North Country.

Donations helped provide team members a free t-shirt paid by the FOP Lodge 999 so that 100% of our donations could go to the Special Olympics. Thanks Deputy and our great team!

In collaboration with FOP Lodge 999, the CVES Bulldogs team raised over a $1500. Thank you to our nurses, with the assistance of ITSP students, for the raffle of donated items to raise $331. A big thanks to Deputy Hilliker for organizing this and to Board Member Lori Saunders for braving the cold water. She has been a part of this for many years! Great going for Ms. Christiansen and Mr. Upham and many other staff members who braved the cold water, it was a beautiful sunny day.
