SUMMARY:Managing AI in the Classroom: Changing the Game Without Losing the Goal
DESCRIPTION:Time:                 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM (Registration begins at 8:30 AM) Lunch Provided \nLocation:          CVES Conference Center at 1443 Military Turnpike\, Plattsburgh \nCost:                 $200 per person for billed through 506 School Improvement Co-Ser \nPresenter:        Melissa Dudyak\, CVES Facilitator \nDescription:     Artificial Intelligence (AI) has entered the classroom\, and educators are being asked to make quick decisions about a rapidly changing landscape. This full-day professional development experience provides administrators and teachers with the knowledge\, strategies\, and boundaries needed to integrate AI effectively\, ethically\, and responsibly. Participants will explore how AI can support workload efficiency\, differentiation\, and student access — while also addressing academic integrity\, digital dependency\, data privacy\, and student wellbeing. Educators will walk away with best practice guidance\, sample use policies\, digital citizenship mini-lessons\, sample classroom tasks\, and a personalized implementation plan aligned to their role. This PD empowers schools to shape AI in education — rather than react to it. \nIntended For: K-12 Teachers\, Teaching Assistants\, and Administrators \nRegistration Link: 2025 – 2026 S3 Professional Development

SUMMARY:Tabletop discussion - Cybersecurity Day
DESCRIPTION:Location:  CVES Conference Center\, 1443 Military Turnpike\, Plattsburgh \nNo Charge to attend \nEvent Overview: \nIn today’s digital landscape\, K-12 schools are increasingly targeted by cybercriminals and face evolving risks—from ransomware attacks and insider threats to complex identity management challenges. CVES\, in partnership with SHI\, invites district leaders\, IT teams\, and administrative staff to a dynamic\, hands-on Cybersecurity Day specifically designed to address these issues in the school environment. \nOur event combines expert-led presentations with a unique\, interactive tabletop exercise. Together\, we’ll explore current cybersecurity trends\, practical strategies for safeguarding student data and classroom technology\, and walk through a simulated cyber incident scenario that brings theory to life. This is not a vendor sales pitch\, but a practical\, collaborative learning opportunity. \nWhat Makes This Event Unique? \n\nReal-World K-12 Focus:\nAll content is tailored to the unique risks\, compliance requirements\, and operational realities of school districts.\nInteractive Tabletop Exercise:\nExperience a guided\, multi-stage simulation based on CISA and FBI scenarios. Work through a timeline of events—from initial cyber alerts to disruptive phishing and payroll issues—demonstrating how seemingly unrelated incidents can escalate into a district-wide crisis.\nCollaborative Problem-Solving:\nBreak down silos between IT and administration. The exercise encourages open dialogue\, collaborative strategy development\, and critical thinking across district teams.\n\nRegistration Link for Wincap: 2025 – 2026 S3 Professional Development
