Costs will be dependent on number of schools participating and purchasing the exams. \nPresenter: Stephanie Sorgule\, School Support Services Assessment and Planning Coordinator \nDescription: Participants will review and revise (if necessary) current World Language comprehensive exam formats and create question banks in French and Spanish for the comprehensive exams. Participants will supply in advance or bring with them reading passages\, realia\, and authentic documents in digital format to be used as the basis of listening and reading questions. Most of day 1 will be spent writing test items using the submitted materials\, with the start of the day spent reviewing the current test format and guidelines for item writing. Day 2 will be for review of test bank items for quality\, levels\, and topics/standards. Additionally\, any revisions to administration manuals and rubrics will be done on this day. If necessary\, a day in January will be spent editing and doing a quality review on the test bank questions. A World Language consultant at CVES will choose questions from the banks to create the proficiency exams for the June 2026 administration by the end of March. A draft printing will take place in April. The exams will be reviewed and edited by individuals who do not have a vested interest in the outcomes of the tests in mid-April\, prior to the final printing. Costs will be dependent on number of schools participating and purchasing the exams. \nPresenter: Stephanie Sorgule\, School Support Services Assessment and Planning Coordinator  \nDescription: Participants will review and revise (if necessary) current World Language proficiency formats and create question banks in French and Spanish for the proficiency exams. Participants will supply in advance or bring with them reading passages\, realia\, and authentic documents in digital format to be used as the basis of listening and reading questions. Most of day 1 will be spent writing test items using the submitted materials\, with the start of the day spent reviewing the current test format and guidelines for item writing. Day 2 will be for review of test bank items for quality\, levels\, and topics/standards. Additionally\, any revisions to administration manuals and rubrics will be done on this day. If necessary\, a day in January will be spent editing and doing a quality review on the test bank questions. A World Language consultant at CVES will choose questions from the banks to create the proficiency exams for the June 2026 administration by the end of March. A draft printing will take place in April. The exams will be reviewed and edited by individuals who do not have a vested interest in the outcomes of the tests in mid-April\, prior to the final printing. There are numerous descriptions of what competence entails\, how it is acquired\, and what it means in terms of on-the-job performance. Despite the differences\, the literature is clear that competence involves three domains: knowledge\, skills\, and attitudes. Because TCI training is competency-based\, all three of these domains must be considered when developing competence\, assessing competence\, or determining whether or not competency standards have been achieved in the training setting. TCI trainers have a critical role in not only training staff\, but also in assessing staff competence\, determining whether a training participant has met agency competency standards\, and communicating competency assessments to supervisors for follow-up and additional staff development. \nIMPORTANT Information:   \nAll registered participants will also be required to register directly with Cornell. Those seeking Initial Lead Evaluator Training will also need to attend Session 3* on January 22\, 2026\, to complete the training. \nThis workshop is for administrators who will be evaluating staff under APPR 3012-d.
