Participants will supply in advance or bring with them reading passages\, realia\, and authentic documents in digital format to be used as the basis of listening and reading questions. Most of day 1 will be spent writing test items using the submitted materials\, with the start of the day spent reviewing the current test format and guidelines for item writing. Day 2 will be for review of test bank items for quality\, levels\, and topics/standards. Additionally\, any revisions to administration manuals and rubrics will be done on this day. If necessary\, a day in January will be spent editing and doing a quality review on the test bank questions. A World Language consultant at CVES will choose questions from the banks to create the proficiency exams for the June 2026 administration by the end of March. A draft printing will take place in April. The exams will be reviewed and edited by individuals who do not have a vested interest in the outcomes of the tests in mid-April\, prior to the final printing.
