DESCRIPTION:Date: February 9\, 2027\n\nTime: 8:30-3 pm\, Registration begins at 8 am\n\nLunch will be provided\n\nDescription:\n\n6th Annual Statewide Symposium\n\n\nFeaturing keynote speaker Dr. Barbara Stripling\, this workshop will\nexplore inquiry and the inquiry cycle as a framework for developing\nstudents as curious\, capable\, and independent learners.\nParticipants will delve into inquiry as a way of learning and explore\nauthentic opportunities through project-based learning\, alternative\nforms of assessment\, and purposeful use of the school library and\nits resources. The New York State Portrait of a Graduate will provide\na lens for connecting inquiry to the skills and attributes students\nneed as learners. NYSED will provide closing remarks on the role\nschool librarians play in strengthening inquiry in education.\n\nTeacher and librarian teams encouraged to register together to\nfurther collaboration and creation of inquiry-based opportunities.\nAll members of the school community are welcome to join the 6th\nannual SLSA Statewide Learning Symposium\, sponsored by the\nSchool Library Systems Association of NYS.\n\n\nRegister Here: 2026 – 2027 SLS Professional Development
