DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Shannon Pitcher-Boyea from Breathing Room Mindful Personal & Professional Wellness\, LLC \nDates: February 8\, 2019\, April 26\, 2019 & June 7\, 2019 \nWorkshop times: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm (registration: 8:00 – 8:30 am) \nLocation: CVES Instructional Services Center for Days 1 & 2 \nNOTE:**Day 3 would be held at a local school district\, as students will be involved – This will be decided at a later date** \nCost: $325 per participant \nLunch provided  \nDay 1: February 8\, 2019\n \nIntroduction to Mindfulness for Educators: \nFull day of pd that introduces mindfulness\, the science\, benefits\, who uses and why. Participants also engage in foundational mindfulness practices followed\nby reflection. We dig into mindfulness as an antidote to stress and trauma\,\nlearn about self-care\, and develop a self-care action plan. We explore trauma\nand how it impacts brain development\, growth\, and learning. Participants\ntake the ACE and learn more about themselves. Participants leave with\npractical knowledge and awareness of mindfulness and how to incorporate into\npersonal and professional lives. \nDay 2: April 26\, 2019\n \nTeachers as Mindful Leaders:  \nA voluntary teacher leader group from a district will learn in depth foundational\nmindfulness practices. Teachers will explore and engage in the foundational\nmindfulness practices and learn how to teach them on this day. Role\nplaying and participation is required on this day. Participants are required to\nestablish a personal practice. \nA book study and weekly virtual sessions for one month is an option with this\ntraining for an additional fee. \n  \nDay 3: June 7\, 2019\n \nTeachers as Mindful Leaders with Students: \nAt least one month after Day 2\, the voluntary teacher leader group will reconvene. On this day we will engage in deepening our practice and discuss our experiences up until this point. Participants will review scripts and map out a calendar to teach this work with students. Students (provided by the district) will also be part of this day\, teachers will get the chance to practice scripts\, holding space for students\, and offering safe space for discussions with students.
