Trainer: Marty Sugerik
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Registration: 8:00 – 8:30 a.m.)
Location: Instructional Services Center
Cost: $75.00 per participant
National trainer Marty Sugerik will review several Project Based Learning (PBL) lessons from around the United States during this interactive session. Essential design elements and PBL mapping will assist participants in creating their own PBL lessons. Differentiated coaching with designated work time ensures that participants will have a complete initial draft of their own PBL by the end of workshop.
8:30am – 10:00 am Where Are We At?
This will be an interactive session for participants to self-assess their projects to identify and validate the essential design elements. I will model this with a project of my own that I am self-assessing.
I will also review the SREB Design Process so participants can see how a project design is mapped into a calendar to manage the process for students.
10:00 am – 11:30 am Differentiated Coaching and Protected Work Time.
This time will allow participants to ask specific questions regarding their project. This is an opportunity for protected time for participants to complete any areas in a relaxed environment.
11:30 am -12:30 pm lunch
12:30 pm to 2:00 pm “Open Mic” and/or Gallery Walk
This time is designed for participants to share their project descriptions and get some peer feedback.
This is very productive and is essential to have an outside set of eyes to recognize their effort and to offer suggestions for designers to consider.
2:00 pm -2:30 pm Next Steps and closing questions.
