A day of dialogue and reflection around the policies, laws, and professional considerations of supporting a diverse and representative collection.
With an increase in community objections to both instructional materials and school library resources, it is critical that school librarians, district administration, and other stakeholders have a strong understanding of board policies and the legal and ethical aspects necessary for a unified approach when responding to challenges or inquiries.
The Statewide professional development is open to School Librarians, Administrators, Board of Education Members, ELL Teachers, those involved in DEI work. Copies of the updated policies related to the workshop will be shared with attendees.
