Drive-up COVID-19 Testing now Available at CVES for K-12 Staff and Student

PLATTSBURGH, NY — Starting today, January 14, 2022, Champlain Valley Educational Services (CVES) now offers K-12 staff and students in Clinton County Drive-up PCR Testing for COVID-19.

CVES’s PCR Testing requires participants to have a free account through Quadrant/Clarifi to receive their results in connection with their home district. Parents can learn more about Quadrant’s testing services and how to enroll their child(ren) by visiting COVID-19 Testing Information – Champlain Valley Educational Services (cves.org)

“It is really important that you make your profile on the Quadrant application before coming,” CVES COVID-19 Testing Coordinator Randy Lozier said.

Lozier has some recommendations for parents with children and staff coming for the drive-up tests.

“You shouldn’t eat or drink at least a half hour before this test is administered,” Lozier said. “We will administer a mouth swab that takes a sample of your saliva and send it out to Quadrant for pool testing. Results will be made available usually in 72 hours through the Quadrant app, which will also include a PDF print out if you need one to show a school nurse or doctor.”

The purpose of the new drive-up COVID-19 testing site by CVES is to help take the pressure off other local testing sites in the area. The organization and its officials hopes this service makes it possible for students and staff throughout Clinton County school districts to receive quick results that will allow them to continue going to school and work.

Drive-up testing appointments are available after the holiday weekend beginning Tuesday, January 18 through next Sunday January 23. There are four spots for each 15-minute timeframe. Appointments can be booked at: COVID-19 Drive-up PCR Testing (office365.com)

The CVES Drive-Up Testing area is in front of the newly renovated CVES District Offices at 518 Rugar Street, Plattsburgh NY 12901. CVES officials ask that everyone always remain in their vehicles until a testing coordinator comes out to administer the test at their appointment time.
