Workshop Description:

This session is designed for teachers unfamiliar with scoring NYS Math assessments or those who need a “refresher.”  A review of the NYS Mathematics Core Curriculum, scoring policies, recommended instructional practices, and observations from past year’s regional scoring will be discussed. 

Participants will learn the format of and guidelines for administering the NYS Grades 3-8 Mathematics assessments, become familiar with the holistic rubrics used for scoring and scoring policies, practice scoring two and three point open-ended response items, and discuss implications for improved curriculum and instruction.
