Workshop Description:

The content of this interactive workshop will include strategies for building specialized vocabulary, background knowledge, study techniques, comprehension monitoring, motivation, critical thinking, and questioning techniques.

Participants are encouraged to bring a unit of study particular to their content area. Time will be allotted for integration of content literacy strategies within this unit of study. Participants will receive a copy of “Tools for Teaching Content Literacy” by Janet Allen.
