Workshop Description:

Are your students reading the words but not ‘getting it’? With the focus on accessing content, educators are
hampered in achieving their goals when students have weak comprehension skills. This workshop will focus on
a few research-based strategies that can be used consistently across ALL content areas by ALL teachers. This
workshop will focus on strategies used to teach three essential research-based skills: critical reading, notetaking,
and writing. These strategies can be effectively used in all content areas by all students.

Teachers are invited to bring their subject area’s reading materials.

Target audience: General educators, content area teachers and ALL interventionists (special educators and literacy specialists).
