Workshop Description:

Running Effective Meetings 8:00 - 10:00 am

    • Administrators spend a tremendous amount of time in meetings taking away, in part, their ability to do other important things. Running an effective meeting therefore means a lot to an administrator’s life. This workshop will highlight the attributes of an effective meeting and provide an opportunity to reflect on practice. Through group input and presentation, participants will leave with many practical strategies

21st Century Education 10:15 am -12:15  pm

    • The session will discuss (1) the skills necessary to succeed in the 21st Century, (2) recommended 21st Century learning outcomes, (3) the characteristics of the 21st Century learner, (4) the attributes of the 21st Century educator, and (5) how 21st Century learning environments will need to adapt.

Recognizing and Sustaining Extraordinary Teachers 1:00 – 3:00 pm

    • This session is designed to discuss the International Center for Leadership in Education’s new research on the characteristics of extraordinary teachers. As school administrators, one of our goals should be to support the development of extraordinary teachers because of the absolutely critical role they play in enhancing quality instruction.  This session will highlight the characteristics of extraordinary teachers and describe how administrators can sustain their expertise and influence.
