Library Services Media On-line Resources will provide access to on-line and instructional resources to school libraries. In addition to allowing school libraries to purchase these databases, the School Library System will provide staff development, training, and access to technical support for these products.
The purpose of the Coordinated Cooperative Collection Development is to reduce duplicate purchasing of materials by the districts and encourage development of more in-depth collections for research.
Through the development of Emphasis Collections, materials needed for curriculum support of the NYS Learning Standards are held within the system.
Materials are chosen by participating district library media specialists. The School Library System facilitates the ordering of materials and works closely with vendors to obtain quality pricing.
