CDL Class A Tractor Trailer Driving School

Prerequisites

Candidates seeking to enroll in CV-TEC's Tractor Trailer Driving School must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. You must be 21 years of age or older;
  2. You must have obtained a NYS Class A Permit;
  3. You must have obtained a DOT medical examination and Drug Test as per the DMV permitting process;
  4. You must know how to use a "standard" transmission (e.g., regular automobile).

Cost

The cost for taking CV-TEC's CDL Class A Tractor Trailer Driving Program is only $3,900. This cost includes:

  1. Use of CV-TEC's tractor trailer;
  2. Low student-to-teacher ratio (2:1, in-truck instruction);
  3. 60 hours of instruction (includes 30 hours of personal driving time);
  4. All necessary preparation to take the NYS DMV CDL Class A Road Test.

Additional Costs

  1. Optional: $40.00 "Trucking" Textbook;
  2. Separate Road Test fee required by DMV at the time of exam: $40.00.

Enrollment Procedures

To enroll in CV-TEC's Tractor Trailer Driving School, simply:

  1. Present your Driver's License and Class A Permit at the time of registration;
  2. Present payment at the time of registration. Payment may be made through one or more method, including:
    • Cash
    • Credit Card
    • Agency Sponsorship (e.g., VESID, OneWorkSource)
    • Educational Loans (e.g. bank loans)
