The Regional Academic Summer School provides remedial courses, review classes and state examinations for students enrolled in Participating Schools grades 6-12.

Where and when is RASS?

The 2011 Regional Academic Summer School will run from Monday, July 11 through Tuesday, August 16, 2011, Monday through Thursday at Saranac Middle School. There are no Friday classes.

The classes occur in three sessions: (click to view schedule)
Session I - 7:45-9:15 AM
Session II - 9:25-10:55 AM
Session III - 11:05-12:35 AM

NOTE: Science 8 has moved to the second session

What classes and exams are offered by RASS?

The Regional Academic Summer School offers 28 classes tailored to the needs of diligent students. Please see our course offerings by class or session for more information. In August, we offer a selection of NYS exams. Please see our exam offerings for more information.

How and when do I register for RASS?

You can register starting now! Contact your participating school's guidance office for registration information.
The registration deadline for classes is Friday, June 24, 2011.
The deadline for exams is Friday, July 15, 2011.

NOTE: The student's 9 digit local student ID must be included on the registration form. We cannot accept registration forms that do not include this ID#. Also, include the school district's BEDS code.

What else do I need to know?

  • The Regional Academic Summer School is paid for by participating school districts at no cost to the student.
  • Transportation must be provided unless provided by the student's school district. Ask your guidance counselor for more information.
  • Daily attendance is required, and a student's grade will include "quality participation points."
  • It is recommended that students' schedules be limited to two sessions.
