Welding Program

Our two year program is designed to give students a wide variety of welding training. We offer Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on low carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel; Gas Metal Arc Welding using spray transfer, short circuit transfer, and flux cored wire; Shielded Metal Arc Welding on low carbon steel; and Oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing. We also have training on the CNC plasma cutter.

Class room training includes portfolio writing, trade related math and science, blueprint reading, weld symbols, metallurgy and process related theory. Prior to graduation students have the opportunity to take a variety of AWS welding certifications.

This program is available at the Plattsburgh Satellite Campus.

This program is a NYSED CTE Approved Program.

Students enrolled in this program are eligible to earn integrated academic credit toward graduation and the CTE Endorsement (Advanced Designation in Career and Technical Education) on their High School Diploma.
