Welding Program

Students performing extensive hands-on work will learn welding techniques in MIG, TIG, shielded metal arc welding, plasma arc cutting, and oxy-acetylene brazing and cutting. These processes will be learned on steel, stainless steel, aluminum and cast iron. Students learn to process work orders, identify the correct repair procedure, and perform new material layout and fabrication from a blueprint. Upon completion of this course the student will be prepared to take a variety of welding certification tests.

This program is available at the Plattsburgh Campus.

This program is a NYSED CTE Approved Program.

Students enrolled in this program are eligible to earn integrated academic credit toward graduation and the CTE Endorsement (Advanced Designation in Career and Technical Education) on their High School Diploma.
