The CV-TEC New Visions: Human Services Careers Program is an academically rigorous, in-depth experiential and academic program exploring career opportunities in the helping professions.
Topics of study include early childhood, family assistance, chemical dependency intervention, gerontology, human relations, social work, poverty, social justice, disabilities, child abuse, the mental health system and cultural diversity.

Students will participate in internship programs at various types of human services provider facilities e.g.: DSS, CVES, Early Intervention, Center for Independence, ARC, Commission for the Blind, Center for Independence, Northern Alliance for Mental Health, etc.
Experience gained through this multifaceted internship program is intended for college-bound high school seniors who would benefit from observing and interacting with professional staff in various helping professions as a method of understanding and choosing a specialty of study.
New Visions Program
The New Visions Program is taught at the honors level and provides an insider’s study of professional careers by immersing you in the daily activities with a mentor / expert before starting your college career. Acceptance is competitive with selection based on grades, recommendations, interview and essay.

Students may choose from over 70 AP, certificate-granting and high school credit online courses to fulfill requirements and augment their New Visions Experience.
