The CV-TEC New Visions: Government Careers Program is an academically rigorous, in-depth exploratory program studying career opportunities as legislators, tax examiners, collectors, and revenue agents, urban and regional planners and other varied elected government officials.
New Visions: Government is a unique program for college-bound high school seniors who can benefit from exposure to the many public service professions as an integral part of their career preparation.

General areas of instruction for the New Visions: Government Program include intense course work in governmental policy and political science. Topics include: Law, Government, Special Interests, Institutions of Government, Public Policy, Election Campaigns, etc.
Students will be provided internships at various City, Village and Town Departmental Offices in the area.

The New Visions Program is taught at the honors level and provides an insider’s study of professional careers by immersing you in the daily activities with a mentor / expert before starting your college career. Acceptance is competitive with selection based on grades, recommendations, interview and essay.
