Home Health Aide (Adults Only)

The Adult Home Health Aide Program is an intense course based on a minimum of 120 Hours of classroom and 32 hours clinical study. Regular attendance is essential for successful completion of the program. Class size is limited to 15 students. Available at the Plattsburgh campus.

Admission Procedures:

  1. Complete the application form and Student Tuition Statement and return them to: CV-TEC Satellite Campus at PO Box 455, 518 Rugar Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
  2. Enclose a copy of your high school diploma or GED.  You will be required to take a basic Reading and Math test.  This test is given at One Work Source, 194 US Oval, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.  This test is given free of charge.  Once we have received your application, we will call you to make arrangements for you to take this test.
  3. Enclose copies of a photo I.D. and your social security card (however, your original social security card is the only acceptable form of I.D. for taking the certification examination). 
  4. You will receive notification of your acceptance based upon availability due to class size. Class size is limited to 15 students. 
  5. You will be required to sign a confirmation and return it along with a $25.00 non-refundable deposit to secure your class seat (this payment will be applied to your tuition).
  6. You will receive a welcome letter with information regarding your first class.

Admission Requirements:

  • Be 16 years of age or older.
  • Be a high school graduate or have earned your GED.
  • Submission of an application form
  • Receive an official acceptance from the CV-TEC Health Careers Program Coordinator.
  • Sign and return the Student Tuition Statement and $25.00 down payment (may be waived with official
           notification that an agency is responsible for your tuition).

Tuition:

  • The program tuition is $1,700.00 (now includes uniform and textbook) and must be paid in full
           one month prior to the start date of the class.
  • A check or money order must be made payable to: BOCES Treasurer
  • You may also pay with Master Card and Visa.

Additional Expenses:

1. Complete physical examination and immunization update- Varies with physician
2. Loose leaf, composition book or something similar $3.00 - $5.00
